NetEase Games has announced that its free-to-play battle royale game Rules of Survival (ROS) is confirmed to shut down on June 27, 2022.
"We regret to inform you that Rules of Survival will cease operations on June 27, 2022, at 15:00:00 (UTC+8)," read the official Rules of Survival Twitter post.
Existing ROS players can still access the game's servers until June 27, 2022. After that, it will no longer be able to access, and all account data and character information (characters, Diamonds, items, materials, etc.) will be deleted.
Meanwhile, those who still have diamonds in their account can apply for a refund from June 28 until September 28, 2022.
NetEase Games also thanked the ROS community for their love and support for the game.
"We sincerely apologize for this and thank you once again for your tremendous support towards Rules of Survival."

The developer did not explain why the game is being closed after nearly five years of operation.
Rules of Survival was released in 2018 on the PC, Android, and iOS platforms.
In January 2022, NetEase Games launched Rules of Survival 2.0, which revamped its gameplay elements, graphics, audio, and other elements.
ROS has also done several crossovers with different titles. In May 2021, it partnered with Ravelo Komiks Universe (RKU), which featured three major Filipino comics characters Darna, Captain Barbell, and Lastikman. In October 2021, it collaborated with the hit anime Attack on Titan, which featured major characters Eren and Mikasa.
Rules of Survival is also among the games played in the esports events Top Clans 2021 Winter Invitational and Top Clans 2021 Summer Invitational.
