
Opensignal has issued its Mobile Network Experience Report and its Mobile Experience Awards for April 2022, analyzing the mobile network experience of the Philippines' three major telcos: Globe, Smart, and DITO, during the first quarter of 2022.
According to the report, Smart bagged 11 out of 16 awards, including download speed and the user experience when playing multiplayer mobile games or using over-the-top voice apps over cellular connections. DITO is the clear winner in terms of Upload Speed Experience and Availability, while Globe is the leader in terms of 5G Video Experience and both awards for consistent quality.

Smart outperforms the competition in terms of overall download speeds, with a record of 19.7 Mbps. DITO is the runner-up with 14.8 Mbps, followed by Globe with 11.9 Mbps. Smart leads the pack in terms of 5G download speeds at 149.9 Mbps, followed by Globe at 111 Mbps.
DITO leads the charts in terms of overall upload speeds at 4.8 Mbps, followed by Smart at 4.5 Mbps and Globe at 3 Mbps. Smart has the fastest 5G upload speeds at 14.6 Mbps, followed by Globe at 11 Mbps.
When it comes to 5G Availability and 5G Reach, Smart has a score of 14.7 percent, which is 5.8 percentage points higher than Globe's 8.8 percent. However, Smart's lead in 5G Reach is narrower, as it wins with 4.4 points, while Globe takes second place with 3.5 points.
Moreover, Smart is the winner of the Games Experience and Voice App Experience categories. For the former, its 54-point score is 12.9 points (31.5 percent) higher than that of DITO, which is in second place. Smart wins the 5G Games Experience with a score of 68.1 points, 11.3 points higher than Globe's score of 56.8.
Globe wins the Excellent Consistent Quality category by a 7.8 percentage point margin over Smart. Globe outperformed DITO by 12.8 percentage points in Core Consistent Quality.
