Valorant makes player title 'Finest' as a tribute for 'Revive me Jett' guy

Valorant pays tribute to Lance "Finest" Arcilla, also known as the creator of the popular meme "Revive Me, Jett," by immortalizing his in-game name as a player title.

The Filipino Valorant player died earlier this month at the age of 21. This was confirmed by his mother, Leny Arcilla, on a Facebook post. Finest's cause of death was not disclosed.

Finest began a joke in early 2020 that would bring laughter throughout the Valorant community. He called out for his team's remaining Duelist, Jett, to revive him, leaving his teammates perplexed. In the hero shooter game, the only agent capable of reviving players is the Sentinel known as Sage.

Though we don't know whether the callout was made in error or to troll his teammates, the phrase has made a big impact on Valorant and was quickly adopted by thousands around the world.

Besides the "Finest" player title, Riot also included "Revive Me, Jett" as a spray available through the battle pass reward in Episode 2: Act 2.

As with the meme's previous recognition via the "Revive Me Jett" spray, Valorant will offer the Finest tag to those wishing to show their support.

In a Facebook post, Valorant said that "in the upcoming Episode 4 Act III Battlepass, we pay tribute to Lance 'Finest' Arcilla, who gave the VALORANT community so many unforgettable moments of joy."

It added, "in his honor, all players can now carry his name with them."
